Sun Goddess – Local Tradition Global Fashion

Sun Goddess harvests stories and images of early South African Traditions. These stories are told in ancient design aesthetics that often carry the DNA of our cultures. We embrace a majestic Africa that surpasses time and fashion, one of legends kings and queens, gods and goddesses.

The folktales are captured in the luxurious fabrics, sensual silhouettes and the distinct Sun Goddess color blends. As legacy curators, we employ the power of fashion to help us create enhanced and unique realities. Believing that fashion can be more than just beauty or escapism we employ it as a positive instrument geared for shaping our identity as a collective.

In the dynamic global design world our emphasis is on the preservation of “Luxury Ethnic Crafting” as seen in our luxury high end fashion, accessories, signature textiles, eyewear, leather goods, skins bags and footwear. Inspired by our past and built for the future the launch of the Sun Goddess first fine fragrances epitomized the evolution of the brand from just fashion into luxury lifestyle.

Adrian Steed Communications – South Africa

Adrian Steed is a broadcasting legend and says he has been reliably informed that he is now a doyen of media training. Steed was born in the United Kingdom and went to the Royal Academy of Arts on scholarships. After school, he says, “I chased a woman to South Africa. It ended badly, but by that time I was stuck here.” After working in drama for a few years, Steed got a job with SABC radio in 1960. He became a pioneer in writing radio plays and programmes.

Then TV was launched in South Africa in 1976 and Steed set out on another 20-year career, during which, he says, he did anything and everything, from news anchoring to producing sports programmes. “In 1996, they decided I was too pale and male, so I left TV,” says Steed. Throughout his TV career, he had also been training business people to cope with the media, and now he runs media training master classes. He says he absolutely loves training his clients, many of whom are from blue chip companies.

The first thing that Adrian Steed does when he’s approached by a new client is to establish what the client’s delegates’ training requirements are. Generally they fall into three categories:

1. Media Training and Relations.
2. Crisis Communications to the Media.
3. Presentation Skills, which apply to radio, television and live presentations to groups of people.

Chris Wall Photography

While they do say a picture is worth a thousand words, most clients actually do want a thousand words accompanying their pictures, and Chris is more than capable of helping out. For nearly fifteen years he was the editor and main feature writer of SA’s largest lifestyle motoring magazine, Speed & Sound. His stint at the magazine exposed him to many different lifestyle events and people, both locally and internationally, which means an invaluable contact list.

Dealing with so many varied people and personalities means he’s had to make sure he can chop and change his writing style to fit in just about anywhere, from his well-liked colloquial style right through to the serious corporate stuff. Chris’s work can be found strewn across the internet on blogs and in online magazines. His photography & journalism skills (as well as being an all round nice guy) have allowed him to attend many exclusive events and he has been lucky enough to capture great images of SA’s hottest bands, EFC fighters, motoring events, tattoo artists and extreme athletes at lifestyle events.

Chris is also a member of the South African Guild of Motoring Journalists which allows him to cover many great motoring events and new car launches in South Africa and abroad.

Dawn Shaw – International Author and Speaker

Dawn is an author and internationally recognized speaker for diversity inclusion, particularly facial difference. “The human face is deeply integrated with how we communicate and with our perception of beauty and intelligence. It is most always the first thing we notice about a person we meet. So having a face that is physically different has definitely changed the way the world perceives me, which in turn affects my view of the world. But while I’ve had plenty of struggles, I’ve had triumphs as well. Though acceptance has taken time, I do not allow what some would consider a deformity to stop me from enjoying life.

In 2005, I was inspired to write my memoir Facing Up to It because I believe my story can improve the lives of others. About halfway through the lengthy difficult and insightful process of writing my book, I realized that sharing my experiences via public speaking was an even better way to impart on people the importance of embracing differences and acknowledging our similarities. Since many of my life experiences are relatable, I can reach a variety of audiences in ways they understand and can apply to their own lives.”
